Will Connolly who became known as Egg Boy after cracking an egg on Senator Fraser Anning says the decision by Victoria Police to not charge him over the incident is a relief.

The 17-year-old VCE student says it has been a stressful time for him and his family over the last few weeks.

Will wants to thank Victoria Police for their professionalism in their dealings with him and the speed of the resolution.

Will is taking very seriously the formal caution he was given by police about his actions.

Will and his family at no stage sought to have any action taken against people who reacted against him following the incident.

Gordon Legal’s Peter Gordon says: “I want to add my thanks to the Victorian Police who made an extraordinary and stressful situation for a Hampton family a little more manageable.”

Mr Gordon confirmed that all money raised by crowd funding which was just over $100,000 for Will’s legal defence will be donated to help victims of the Christchurch tragedy.

Will has returned to his studies. He continues to aspire for a future of tolerance and equality for all people.
